Best torikatsu in Tokyo. Great intimate atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re in someone’s home. Owners are super friendly and the food is amazing. A little difficult to find but it’s worth it.

Ambience: For me, it’s a must to visit this quaint, authentic Japanese eatery every time I come Tokyo. This place brings a nice break of much comfort and warmth from the bustling city of Shibuya. (Note it’s not v easy to find. But that’s the fun in it as well!)Food: THE BEST. My faves are the fried chicken and fried squid. So juicy and flavourful, the batter is perfect: light and crisp. I don’t recommend the fried pork-a bit too tough and dry for me. Service: staff speaks Japanese only. They’ve recently come up with an English menu so there’s no need for Google translate anymore. Very prompt, homely yet professional service provided. Cost/Value for money: so damn worth the money. The only downside I fear of sharing this review this that this places becomes too crowded. Tip: Avoid lunch hour for shorter queues!

Very small, hidden katsu restaurant. I liked the ambience and the personal attention to each order. My chicken katsu was good, but not the best I've had. I would return if I was in the area, but probably wouldn't go out of my way to specifically visit this restaurant.

I enjoyed my trip to Chicken. I was a little out of my depth and grateful to the Japanese gentleman sitting next to me who I copied and he tried to assist with the different pots! I’d happily go back again. It was nice to be able to watch the food being cooked. I only ordered two pieces of chicken- definitely order three; you won’t regret it, unlike I did with only two pieces.

May be difficult to find (turn off the main street, then turn off the sub street into a small laneway and go into what looks like (and is) an apartment block), but it's worth the expedition. Cheap and cheerful fried chicken, pork, eggplant, onion and other yummy things which are cooked less than a metre from your face.

Good katsu shop in Tokyo, hidden in the building but you can follow the google map by the way.

Saw this on baek jong won street food fighter, it is as good as he says. The miso soup has a strong flavor to it which I like. The katsu is light and not greasy. Out of the katsu places I went to the cabbage actually goes well with the katsu here. Other katsu places just put a bunch of shredded cabbage without care. A regular set meal with 3 toppings is just enough to get full but not too full that its painful. It might not be the best katsu you ever tried but it is definitely worth trying once.

Really good Torikatsu. Chicken was moist, tender and super crispy. We loved it so much that we ordered another round. We loved the Japan croquette as well. Very kind service.Very good value for money. Only downside is that all your clothes will smell frying oil.

The location is really on the small alley in Shibuya and you have to enter one building on the left side of the alley (there is an arrow to show the location). There is an English menu, so foreigner can easily order the food. The torikatsu was one of my best tori katsu i ever taste

Do you like chicken? Simple course of action then: Come here! Had dinner here with a friend in my recent stay in Shibuya, and it was fantastic. The place can be hard to find; it's down a smaller alleyway and on the second floor of a building. Look on Google Maps street view ahead of time, that was how I found it easily. Because of the peculiar location, it makes it a less crowded and stressful experience. It's run by two elderly ladies, who were extremely generous and polite to me, and patient with my limited Japanese. English menus are available, and you can order the food in sets that come with soup, shredded cabbage, and rice alongside the main dish. Served with complimentary self-pour tea. The whole experience is very homely, and the service was efficient and friendly. The torikatsu (it's in the name!) was incredibly delicious.

Slightly overrate. I had a fried chicken biz before. I could tell the oil had not been changed for at least 4 -5 days. . Normal panko bread crumps, slice cabbage a little spicy because it was so wash at least once. The ton katsu (pork) and tori Katsu (chicken) are very tender, although a bit of smelly oil. Food is cheap. Beer not so chilled. I am not sure the rice is Low grade or they cook with too much water. Soup is tasty. There are better food than this in Shibuya. For the price, I may come back again. Hopefully it will not be the day that the oil is end of 5 days cycle

Enter the Miyakoji Building and head to the 2nd floor, you'll find Torikatsu Chicken there. Enter and have a seat anywhere, it's a rather small place. The ninki set now is 700 yen, comes with chicken katsu, ham katsu and croquette together with shredded cabbage, rice and miso soup. Now that's a meal for a great price. Delicious and heartwarming. You can also order sets with different sides of your choosing. You can also ask for an English menu. If you're sitting right in front of the shopkeepers, just place your finished bowls on the ledge that they served you on and pay on the spot.

Homely, delicious food. Owners speak extremely limited English, but the chicken katsu more than makes up for it. Cooked just right and with so much love.

Come for the Tonkatsu and stay for the cute atmosphere!You gotta go down a seedy allie to get to it, but don't be scared!

Wow Great chicken pork katsu and octopus fry. Two ladies served awesome food. We got here early for the food. It is very nice & fast food. We throughly enjoyed the food and home cooked meal. Thank you.

You get to choose which types of katsu you want, and they are beautifully fried. A hidden gem tucked away in a small street.

A very nice home style meal that is super affordable. It's a small 10ish seat restaurant staffed by 2 very pleasant older Japanese women and they specialize in Chicken Katsu but sell all types. The food is great and ranges from 650 yen to around 800 and you can pick up to 3 types of entrees. Overall, very good place, definitely a must stop if you're in the area.

The restaurant is in the 2nd floor & its written by japanese words, a little bit hard to find it. From 109 shibuya walk through uniqlo store, family mart then turn right take a steep street & the location is in the left side, find the picture i post it on the restaurants list at that building.You will be served by 3 old ladies who will help you with your order, ask the english menu. It took around 10mins for preparing your order. It is delicious & it's cheap meals ¥650 for 2 cutlet katsu set, ¥850 for 3 & ¥1000 for 4 cutlet.Delicious

Extremely delicious fried chicken restaurant. It can be a little hard to find as it is located in a little alley. The fried chicken is my personal favorite as it is extremely tender, the fried ham and the Japanese croquette are close seconds.

The chicken katsu is cooked great. It is juicy inside and crispy outside. Service time was fast as well. As with most izakayas, the place is narrow so you might want to reconsider if you are in a large group. Alternatively, you can do takeouts from this place as well.

The place is slightly hard to find but very worth it. I had the special plate, which came with fried chicken, fried pork, a Japanese croquette, and the standard fixings (rice, miso soup, and cabbage) for a total of ¥700. The food was absolutely delicious and felt like a traditional home cooked meal.The 3 ladies working were extremely courteous, the ambience and atmosphere make it feel very much like a place that locals flock to during lunch time.Would highly recommend to check this place out. They had other offerings but the special plate seemed to be the best value. English menu was available.P.S be wary of the Wasabi mustard!

Such a hidden gem. Run by two elderly ladies, making it feel like a home-cooked meal. The カニコロッケ (Crab-croquette) is to die for!

The meal was okay. Nothing special for me. But I am concerned about the oil they use for frying the katsu. It was so black that the color of the katsu also turned dark. Other than that, everything was good I guess. The meal package was pretty cheap for Japan standard.

Extremely pleased! We ordered torikatsu; came with 2 pieces of chicken, salad, small rice bowl and miso soup. Food portion is moderate (may be smaller compared to other shops) but will definitely fill you up. For the price (¥650 incl tax), it really is a good meal. It may be quite difficult to find the place. But try to use Google map. The shop can be found on the left street next to two bubble tea shops (one of them is ah peh).

Unbelievable katsu in the most authentic location. Good luck finding it, believe me it's tricky-but that's what adds to the appeal.

The most delicious chicken katsu you will ever eat. The tiniest place run by three lovely women. Such a fantastic place tucked away in an alley. Definitely worth a visit.
